 Meet Stacy

A little about me and why I write

It All Started When

I was 9 years old. I had been reading books by Mary Higgins Clark. Probably not your usual fare for a 9 year old, but I was a voracious reader and my Mom had Reader’s Digest Condensed books all over the house.

I don’t remember which book it was specifically, but whatever I read convinced me that I could write my own. In the way that only a child can think, I thought to myself, "How hard can it be?” And so began my still unfinished first novel, along with a love of writing that continues to this day.

Background

Stacy is a native of Moorhead, Minnesota, most famous for being across the river from Fargo, North Dakota (just kidding, it’s not famous.) But fans of The Big Lebowski will recognize it as Bunny Lebowski’s (aka. Fawn Knutsen’s) hometown.

Never one to sit idle, Stacy worked full-time while earning a Bachelor's of Specialized Studies in Regulatory Management from Ohio University and a Master's in Management from the University of Mary. During and after, she spent 22 years as a Management Consultant where she rose to the top ranks of a Fortune Global 500 company. What does any of that have to do with writing? Nothing, nada, zip.

Stacy's passion for writing was just a hobby, but one that always found an outlet as she climbed the corporate ladder. It was born out of her love of reading and instilled and encouraged by her mother’s love of the same. Trips to the local library as a young child were an exciting event. Books were a magical world of people and adventures and ideas and she couldn't get enough. During the summer, when school was out, she would anxiously await the arrival of the BookMobile, where she would check out the limit of books each week.

Over the years Stacy dabbled in writing - taking classes, journaling, writing essays - but work always took priority. An avid traveler, she spent many of those years traveling the U.S., and the world, amassing friendships, memories, experiences, and inspiration along the way.

In 2020, with the pandemic raging and career burnout simmering, Stacy left the corporate world behind and began pursuing right-brained passions long on the back burner. Immersing herself in local and online literary communities, she started exploring life as a writer and never looked back.

When she's not writing, Stacy lends her time to causes she is passionate about and spends time with her husband, Todd, in their transplanted home of St. Pete Beach, Florida.

"Stacy’s prose is exceptionally clean and clear, her ideas are artfully expressed, and her attention to detail is superb."
